For now, Facebook Timeline is the end of the landing page. We all loved having a landing page or welcome page, which was the first page a person saw that encouraged them to Like the company and enjoy some exclusive benefits. Now we will need to be creative in order to drive people to these pages. One easy solution is to use the “Pin to Top” feature. Because apps will still work and will have their own URL, follow these tips:
• Click into the app and copy the URL.
• Go back to the home screen and paste the URL as a new status update (Facebook will generate a link preview).
• Come up with creative text that will drive users to click into the link. (Offer a discount or incentive).
• Delete the URL (keeping the preview open). This will clean up the post and make it more appealing to the user.
• Post the status, then hover over the top right corner and click on the “pencil” icon. From the drop-down menu, click Pin to Top.
You’re done!
This will pin this status at the top of your Timeline for 7 days! It will also allow users to see and click into your “welcome tab” or app from your Timeline upon visiting your brand page.
