YouTube is one of the most visited and searched websites on the Internet today. Oddly enough, YouTube is owned by Google; the most visited search engine in the world. So how could they make your online experience that much easier? If you have a Google+ profile, you can use it to sign up for YouTube. The process is much easier as it will pull your information from your Google+ account, so you do not have to fill out as much information, if any at all! This will allow you to have a consistent identity across all Google platforms.

Creating a Facebook Interest List
Posted on 07:00 by Unknown
Facebook has released a new feature that allows you to create a list of people or pages that interest you. This feature is just like a RSS feed, where it allows you to filter out content that is posted from only people within the list. This is great for companies that may want to monitor their competitors all from one “feed,” rather than going to each Facebook page individually. In any event, you can make these lists private, public, or only available to your friends. You can also search for public lists that other people have made. To find your Interest List after you have created one, go to the home screen. On the left side at the bottom you will see “interests.”
To begin creating your interest list, visit the Facebook Interest Page: https://www.facebook.com/addlist

How to Mention a User on Pinterest
Posted on 07:30 by Unknown
What do you do when you find a pin that you think one of your Pinterest friends would really enjoy or benefit from? It may have seemed that you could not share a specific pin with a certain someone, but that is certainly not the case! When you are uploading a pin or repinning someone's content, you can use the description area underneath to your advantage. Simply type the @ symbol into the description box and immediately followed by the user's name who you would like to share your pin with. Potential matches will begin to load, then simply click the person who you are sharing with. The user will receive a notification that you mentioned them in your pin, and can then go check out what reminded you of them! (Side note: You must be following at least one of the user's boards in order for the mention to work.) Happy pinning!

Drive Traffic to Apps on Facebook Timeline
Posted on 07:21 by Unknown
For now, Facebook Timeline is the end of the landing page. We all loved having a landing page or welcome page, which was the first page a person saw that encouraged them to Like the company and enjoy some exclusive benefits. Now we will need to be creative in order to drive people to these pages. One easy solution is to use the “Pin to Top” feature. Because apps will still work and will have their own URL, follow these tips:
• Click into the app and copy the URL.
• Go back to the home screen and paste the URL as a new status update (Facebook will generate a link preview).
• Come up with creative text that will drive users to click into the link. (Offer a discount or incentive).
• Delete the URL (keeping the preview open). This will clean up the post and make it more appealing to the user.
• Post the status, then hover over the top right corner and click on the “pencil” icon. From the drop-down menu, click Pin to Top.
You’re done!
This will pin this status at the top of your Timeline for 7 days! It will also allow users to see and click into your “welcome tab” or app from your Timeline upon visiting your brand page.

Facebook Timeline Guidelines That You Shouldn't Break
Posted on 07:00 by Unknown
Facebook Timeline will be main stream on all brand pages starting March 30th. Like always, Facebook has implemented guidelines that we must follow, so make sure you don’t break these! It may lead to having your Facebook business page removed.
So what are the new guidelines? Well for starters, because you are given a great big cover photo on your Facebook page, you may want to put a bunch of information in there, but don’t!
Here is what you CANNOT put in your cover photo:
• Price or purchase information, such as “40% off” or “Download it at our website”
• Contact information, such as web address, email, mailing address or other information intended for your page’s About section
• References to user interface elements such as Like or Share, or any other Facebook site features
• Calls to action, such as “Get it now” or “Tell your friends”
They want your cover photo to be the face of your company, not a promotion or a marketing campaign. Good luck!

Do Not Use Punctuation in Your #Hashtags
Posted on 07:30 by Unknown
Creating hashtags on Twitter is a great way for your content to become searchable. “Hashtagging” a keyword or phrase may help your tweet and/or Twitter profile be found by Twitter users who share the same interests. When you create a hashtag, it is important to realize that any punctuation included within your word or phrase will cut it short. For example, let’s say you are running a campaign about french fries and you are using the line “I’m eating fries” as your hashtag. If you tweet this: #I’meatingfries, the hashtag will only pick up the characters before the punctuation, making your actual search term #I. In order to use the hashtag function properly, you must remove any punctuation marks ( , . ? * $ @ ; : “ etc) from the phrase. The correct hashtag from the example above would then be: #Imeatingfries. This will keep your full message intact and make your tweet searchable!
