The point of social media marketing is to be present on social media sites, promoting your business to your target market. The problem with this is there are 20+ social media sites, with more sprouting up every month. So which ones should you be on? Certainly not all of them. Consistency is key to a successful campaign, and being on too many may be hard to keep up with. Also, by focusing on too many social site you may come off desperate in your marketing strategy.
